The Haven Dog Centre Ltd was set up in 2015 by Rachael and Liam Landymore, a mother and son team.

The main reason for creating the dog training centre was to provide a haven for dogs and their caregivers, where the joining of minds and learning can take place in a friendly, fun, non-judgemental environment.

At the Haven, all dogs and caregivers are treated as individuals and training is tailored to individual needs. Not only does the centre offer fun and force-free positive training classes and one-to-one consultations for dogs of all ages, it also offers ACE (Animal Centred Education) and vet physiotherapy appointments. These appointments look at the link between posture, pain and behaviour to help dogs stay healthy and maintain strong mental well-being.

The whole team at The Haven Dog Centre are passionate about dogs and is dedicated to finding the right support for you and your canine companion.

We run classes from Hill Farmhouse, Portmore, Barnstaple, EX32 0HR.

Our Dedicated Team.

The Haven Dog Centre boasts a dedicated team which maintains a strong focus on making learning fun for dogs and humans alike.

All our training sessions are force-free, positive and fun. We believe by training dogs in a fun way, they learn because they want to, not because they have to.

We are all supporters and members of Liam’s MOB and have each signed the Liam’s MOB Pledge, which talks about treating dogs with dignity, kindness, loyalty and respect.

The Latest Knowledge and Training

All our trainers have a wealth of knowledge and expertise, we know that in the field of dog training, you can never stop learning, therefore our staff participate in courses and take new qualifications in dog training each year.

It is very important that we are kept up to date with current science-based dog training methods.
